2nd Annual Ramos Family Gingerbread House Contest

This is the 2nd year we have built Gingerbread houses with the kids. We have a blast doing it, but this year we had a little difficulty with the frosting. I bought box kits last year and this year we had two that were giving to us last year, the frosting was stale and thick like clay. We kneaded the frosting for what felt like ever, but it was thick. The green wasn't even use able. Well after we were finished Laura said hey why didn't you make your own?...well duh, that would have been nice had I thought if it. Note to self, do not use old kits.
Next year we are going to use graham crackers and I am going to buy the candy and make my own frosting.

Winter Wonderlights

Tonight we took the kids to the Wildlife Experience to the Winter Wonderlights. We had a great time, stood in line for an hour and a half, it was 25 degrees outside...bburrrr chilly!

Don't faint

Laura has been bugging me like crazy to update my blog lately. I haven't had any pictures to post. So, today I finally got all the pictures on the computer and so Laura this is for you!

Family Picture

We haven't taken a family picture in a while. So, today after church we stayed in our clothes and took some pictures.

CTR 6

We have one more week to teach these amazing kids in Primary. Loren and I have taught them for the last 18 months and have loved it. Loren and I are so sad to leave these cute kids, but so excited to have watched them grown and change. This is not all our class, we have 12 children in our class.

Pajama day at school

Connor and Taylor had Pajama day at school, the last day before the holiday break. Since their pajama's were in hidious repair, I decided to buy them new ones. I bought Connor a size bigger, but he looked like he was shrinked wrapped into his pajama's. They had a great time though!

Family game night.

Thanksgiving

I didn't take any pictures of our Thanksgiving day, but I wanted to make sure that I posted about our fun day.

This year was not like any year we have had in a long time. This year we had a quiet, fun filled day with the family. It was actually WONDERFUL!

First I got up and put the turkey in my roaster pan, then we went off to the gym so that Loren and I could get a walk in, then we went to Sports Authority to check out some new tennis shoes for me, since I haven't bought a new pair since 1997, I am guessing I was well overdue! After wards we got home about noon, Loren started rinseing fruit, that I've later found out from viewing Dr. Oz that we didn't rinse off nearly enough to clean the fruit. I took a shower and then got to work in the kitchen, setting the table with our fine china, and crystal glasswear. We ate in the formal dinning room too.

At two oclock we sat down to a very sensible filling meal, and at 3 Loren was loading the dishwasher, while I was putting food away. After Loren and I took a 45 minute nap, we set the alarm to make sure we didn't sleep longer. Then we went in and played some Wii with the kids for an hour or two.

After we watched a movie, had some sandwiches for dinner and watched another movie. The day was one of the most relaxing days I've had in years.

What I am thankful for:

I am thankful for my family first and formost.

I am thankful for those men and women who preserve my freedom

I am thankful that for the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my life and the knowledge I have of its truthfulness.

I am thankful for my eight beautiful grandchildren and for our new little one coming in January, she will be a welcome addition to our family!

In July Loren and I went to the local Air Force Base to renew my military ID card that seems to expire every 4 years. While there the kids wanted us to take some pictures of them. So, this is the result.

Trick Or Treat

We went trick or treating with some of our neighbors, we had a great time. The kids made out like bandets!
