Home and the 2nd half of our summer
Once we arrived home on June 26th we put our van in the shop for a tune up and oil change. We had the tires rotated so we could prepare for the 2nd half of our vacation. Once the van was out of the shop that afternoon, we quickly loaded to van so we could leave the next morning. In the next few days I'll post pictures from the 2nd half of our vacation which lasted a month. So, it will take a few days to post all the pictures.
Going home!
We were in Pennsylvania from June 17-26, we had a wonderful time. The time flew by so fast. The night before we flew out we drove to Baltimore and stayed in a hotel so that we didn't have to get up at 1 or 2 am to drive to the airport. This way we only had to get up at 4 am..which was perfect. Here are a few pictures of the hotel and the airport. We didn't have the camera handy on the flight because I was stuck next to a man who took up half my seat, I worried if I got up for anything, I would come back to no seat. I felt like I had to fight for my seat the whole flight. Our flight left at 6:15 am and arrived home at 8:00 am, it was prefect!
Gettysburg-Little Round Top
I decided to post this one seperate from the other pictures because this was such a sacred experience for the kids, Loren and I. This great battle and standing right there looking at the terrain where these soldiers climbed oh it was a special place to be, so thankful that we were able to be there. It did feel like one was walking on hollowed ground.
Gettysburg
The day we went to Gettysburg, the kids did not have a clue what they were in for, we had the best time, we spent the whole day there, and still we could have spent another. This experience was something we all cherish, and talk about often. I do believe that when the kids study Gettysburg in school, they will have something to add. Our experience was amazing, we bought a CD driving tour, at first we were going to go on the tour bus, but felt that maybe the kids might not be able to handle it, so we bought a CD and we spent the day driving from point to point, Actually, it was the best way, we got out and met up with the bus tour at each stop, so we missed nothing. We had a great time and took a many pictures. The kids LOVED the cannon's and I think we have a picture of them on almost every cannon across the vast terrain of Gettysburg.
