Stitches

The kids and I went out to Utah for spring break, an annual activity we do and love it. This year we were there for Laura's birthday. As I was cutting lettuce for the salad for dinner that night. I was busy, Laura walked in and asked me a question right when she asked, I sliced my finger. I was so worried what I would do, because we have out of state insurance. I spend the next 4 hours completely worried about how much an ER visit would cost me, plus I didn't want to ruin her special day. Low and behold after dinner and we headed back to Laura's I told her that I needed to get my finger looked at. We went to Insta Care, the doctor took one look and said oh you need stitches. But even before that, the font desk were so nice, they took my usual copay of $50 and billed my insurance for the rest. I was so happy!!!!! Then I went back to have my vitals taken and she said my blood pressure was 149/99, I was SHOCKED, I told her that was wrong to do it again. Laura just laughed and told the nurse not to worry about it. My blood pressure has never been ever over 110 EVER! I knew that was wrong, but that lady would not listen to me, just Laura. She kept telling me all the worrying I did and all the blood and trauma caused my blood pressure to go up. I tired to explain that even through a Toxema pregnancy I had never had my blood pressure reach more than 110. Oh well, nobody cared, and just gave me a nice block shot in my finger, which numbed from the knuckle down, then he had to give me a couple shots in the cut...YUCK...my finger was numb for two days after! I survived, but Laura told me I was a little baby. I thought I was putting on a good front, but I suppose I missed the boat. It hurt so bad!
